    HADITH

Narrated Ziyad bin'Ilaqa:

I heard Jarir bin 'Abdullah (Praising Allah). On the day when Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba died, he (Jarir) got up (on the pulpit) and thanked and praised Allah and said, "Be afraid of Allah alone Who has none along with Him to be worshipped.(You should) be calm and quiet till the (new) chief comes to you and he will come to you soon. Ask Allah's forgiveness for your (late) chief because he himself loved to forgive others." Jarir added, "Amma badu (now then), I went to the Prophet and said, 'I give my pledge of allegiance to you for Islam." The Prophet conditioned (my pledge) for me to be sincere and true to every Muslim so I gave my pledge to him for this. By the Lord of this mosque! I am sincere and true to you (Muslims). Then Jarir asked for Allah's forgiveness and came down (from the pulpit).

PEACE DECEMBER

NEW YORK PEACE COALITION

Second Annual Peace December Celebration in New York City

Luncheon Celebration Night on 11/30/2011

In 2010, Governor David Paterson, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. issued proclamations to have the month of December as Peace Month in New York City. This historic moment was hosted in the Bronx Rotunda under the auspices of a diverse cross section of elected officials from across the City, State and Federal agencies including the Bronx Borough President Office, Bronx District Attorney, New York State Senator Ruth Hassle- Thompson, DYCD, the New York Police Department, New York City Parks, Bangladeshi American National Democratic Society, USA, Inc, and several other elected officials.

This initiative was born out of the need to lower the bar of skyrocketing crime and violence statistics that happen in New York City every year. With the Borough of the Bronx leading in the said statistics, the offices of the Borough President in the Bronx county has provided his resources including assigning space and staff to engage in this effort to lower the crime rates, in addition to his Peace in the Streets Initiative. With a proclamation from the mayor and series of endorsements from elected officials, government agencies, the clergy and community leaders, the momentum to celebrate December as a peace month keeps galvanizing diversified communities from across New York City to partner in the process.

The New York Peace Coalition partnership is an embodiment of governmental and nongovernmental organizations and initiatives that include Adopt-A-Friend, Bronx Clergy Task Force, NAACP Parkchester Branch, New York Center For Conflict Dialogue, LaCrown Initiatives- It Takes A Village Inc, Latin America-Muslim Women Organization, Islamic Leadership School, St Ann Anti Violence Program, The Mayor and the Bronx Borough President Offices, Bronx District Attorney, NYS State Senator Ruth Hassell- Thompson, DYCD, NYC Parks, JCRC-Cause-NY

Dear brothers and sisters:

Please join us to celebrate this beautiful milestone. All thanks are due to Allah (SW). We are bearing witness that there is no greater privilege than to say that we are celebrating our tenth year anniversary running a fulltime Islamic school in the Bronx. Alhamdu Lillah!

As it has been well publicized by the media, Islamic Leadership School's first day of school was Tuesday, September 11, 2001, the day that changed the world.  Because of this historic birthday, compromising on the quality of whole education was never an option, despite challenges faced. The founding students have now been the voices of Islamic youth leadership in New York through print and electronic media, promoting peaceful coexistence among all New Yorkers.

Please join these honorable students and witness for yourself the results of leadership and commitment of Islamic Leadership School. These founding students will be our host and speakers at this ten year anniversary. …Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves. 13:11

DotHalal Project

Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And God hath power over all things. 4:85

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

REQUEST TO SPONSOR THE OFFICIAL OPERATION OFDOTHALAL

DotHalal is a Generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) project that is intended to automatically filter all the unwanted material from our communication on the internet and insulate our families, businesses and society from inappropriate and corrupt practices that are unethically sound.

The advent of the internet era has made men and women of intellect and creativity to come up with various Generic Top Level Domain names including .com, .net, .org etc. business houses, governments and families have further been introduced to installing software that may prevent the flow of immoral, corrupt and unethical traffic on the internet. Notwithstanding the efforts to install software that locks activities such as pornography, cyber bullying, radicalism recruitments, unsolicited mails from scam artists and offensive ads against one's culture or religion, our society is still being susceptible to the same avoided trajectory and hence exposed moral decay in all ways.

DotHalal (.halal) is an inbuilt Generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) community that filters out all inappropriate contents without doubling the costs of importing software by end-users. The latter has not helped society as evidenced by the prevalence of scams, pornography, juvenile delinquency and unethical business practices through the internet.

Therefore, the creation and establishment of DotHalal is a true testament of the fact that we cannot be inventors of our own destruction and if you want to see a society where morals in business, families and society prevail, we invite you to support, donate or give a loan to help us in establishing DotHalal.

Should you find this cause worth of supporting, please signup online www.HalalFinder.com and click on DotHalal.  We must raise two million dollars ($2,000, 000) by December 10, 2011 to meet the application and initial operational expenses of DotHalal Project.  Be one of the founding 313,000 DotHalal sponsors. Please make checks payable to Halalan Tayyiban Foundation, Inc. and return it to the undersigned address. We are looking forward to working with you in adding value to the well being of our online society.

EIDUL ADHA

2010

EID FESTIVAL IN PARKCHESTER

All are welcome!

While New York City is home to some of the wealthiest families in the world, it is also a town where one would find the greatest wealth disparity among its residents.   Feeding, clothing and entertaining a family may not be a big deal in some of New York's Zip Codes, but it is a big deal that can bring a bright smile on the faces of many in our Bronx County

All individuals and families are invited, especially the homeless, the jobless and the poor to have a festive day of free food, clothes, raffles, children's games, entertainment and social networking.

Date:       Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Time:       1:00-6:00PM

Venue:    AL IMAN COMMUNITY

                    2006 Westchester Avenue,

 Bronx, New York 10462

We have, without doubt, sent down the Message (Qur'an); And We will assuredly Guard it. 15:9

THEME:

LEAVE YOUR QUR'AN BOOK HOME

The Holy Qur'an is in our Hearts!

All are welcome-Muslims and non-Muslims!

This program was organized by a coalition of New York City Muslim organizations in response to recent threats and the actual Holy Qur'an burnings that took place in different states. As a result, we appreciated the opportunity given to us by those who might have thought that burning paper books would affect the sanctity of the Holy Qur'an. Consequently, burning the Holy Qur'an will only increase the worldwide commitment of Muslims to preserve it through memorization.

This symbolic international Qur'anic recitation in front of the United Nations will be done by individuals from different nationalities, races, ages and genders in order to show the broad and diverse Qur'anic dwellings among Muslims. You can't afford to miss this historic moment!

MASJID AL-IMAN

2006 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, New York 10462

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabaraka'tuhu,

In the growing effort to establish the Deen of Allah and the call of Da'wah, there arises the need of strong Islamic establishments such as mosques and Islamic community centers. Here at Masjid Al-Iman, we have the opportunity to create a unique and dynamic synergy of energies from a Masjid, a community center, a school and a nursery which could serve as a model for other communities, insha'Allah. We are located in the center of a vibrant community heavily populated by Muslims from all over the world. Under our hopeful and forward-thinking management team, supported by a solid core of hard-working devoted servants of Allah and His believers, we anticipate the continued progressive development of this worthwhile venture. Thus, we cordially invite you to join us for our Ramadan Fundraising Iftar Banquet on August 28th, 2010.

Let the words of Allah be of reassurance to us that whatever we do for His sake and cause is indeed never lost. For Allah says:

"If ye loan to Allah, a beautiful loan, He will double it to your (credit), and He will grant you Forgiveness: for Allah is most Ready to appreciate (service), Most Forbearing,-" (64:17)

And He (SWT) also says:

"O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the wrong-doers." (2:254)

We look forward to seeing you, your families and friends, so that we may all come together to stand forth for such a noble cause for the sake of Allah.

TIME: between Asr and Maghrib. Guest speaker: Imam Sheikh Hamud Al Silwi, PhD. Lots of food will be served for iftar, insha'Allah.

Baarak Allahu Fiikum,

Imam Mahamed Minte

P.S: If you're unable to attend, any donations would be appreciated. Check & money orders can be made out to Masjid Al Iman or logging on our website. Directions to the Masjid can also be found on the website.
